Meanwhile, Babu Kular Khongjirem, the president of KJDSTA while speaking as the guest of honour, lamented that in spite of the salary sanction order issued by the Director of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) to all DSEOs for the months of September to November, 2019, it is shameful that the treasury and the banks have not given payment to teachers due to non-availability of government funds. “How can the government issue sanction orders to all schools without money?” he wondered. He also urged the government to make instrumental the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission in letter and spirit including extension of pension benefits, raising the DCRG to Rs 10 lakh at par with government employees and particularly the early release of second instalment of pending revised pay before Christmas this year. He also urged the MDA government that if it is serious for quality education in the State, it should implement the pending benefits for deficit teachers.
