Traffic Arrangement on Police Bazaar Road Area

Staff CorrespondentShillong: The Superintendent of Police (Traffic), East Khasi Hills, has informed that the Police Bazaar road connecting Umsohsun Junction and Sadar Thana Road is going to be opened for vehicular traffic on a trial basis from January 27 to ease traffic congestion in and around Police Bazaar area. All LMVs will have to enter from Khyndailad Junction and can either exit through Umsohsun Junction towards Umsohsun Road and GS Road or from Sadar Thana Road. There will be “No Entry” from Sadar Thana junction towards Alpine Hotel-Police Bazaar and from Umsohsun Junction towards Dreamland-Police Bazaar Road. The entire stretch of Police Bazaar Road will function as “One Way” only. There will be “No Entry” for all kinds of vehicles from GS Road, Umsohsun Junction towards Umsohsun Road.

Only light motor vehicles (LMVs) will be allowed to ply in the said road and will be regulated. All LMVs will have to enter from Khyndailad Junction and can either exit through Umsohsun Junction towards Umsohsun Road and GS Road or from Sadar Thana Road. There will be “No Entry” from Sadar Thana junction towards Alpine Hotel-Police Bazaar and from Umsohsun Junction towards Dreamland-Police Bazaar Road. The entire stretch of Police Bazaar Road will function as “One Way” only. There will be “No Entry” for all kinds of vehicles from GS Road, Umsohsun Junction towards Umsohsun Road. No vehicles will be allowed to park on the roadside in this entire stretch of the road. Violators will be penalized as per the law.
