Meghalaya received 540 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours while 9 people succumbed to the deadly virus
Meghalaya received 540 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours while 9 people succumbed to the deadly virus. As of 8th August, the state`s total cases tally has reached 69,171. The north-eastern state has 5,037 active cases currently.
The cumulative recoveries reached 62,971 after 817 under-treatment patients recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24-hours. The total fatalities in the state have climbed to 1163 after 9 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The new cases of infection include 226 from East Khasi Hills, 82 from Ri-Bhoi, 34 from West Garo Hills, 52 West Jaintia Hills, 5 from East Jaintia Hills, 82 from West Khasi Hills, 5 from South West Garo Hills and 4 from East Garo Hills, 82 from West Khasi Hills, 1 from South Garo hill and 1 from North Garo Hills. South West Khasi Hills received 48 cases.
