Supreme Court hearing on medical admission denial on September 11

SHILLONG: The Supreme Court will hear the case relating to denial of admission to medical aspirants of Meghalaya in colleges of Assam on September 11.State health and family welfare minister Roshan Warjri said the state government had moved the apex court last Monday. "The Meghalaya government has also prayed for inclusion of Medical Council of India as a party to the case," the minister said.Every year, four seats each in Guwahati Medical College and Hospital and Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dibrugarh and two seats in Silchar Medical College and Hospital are allotted to Meghalaya and the state government pays Rs 10 lakh for each medical student.
