The Centre has made it clear that there can be no talks with outfits unless they give up arms, said the CM.While some groups in the state, like the Achik National Volunteer Council, have entered into talks with the government, some outfits like the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council are yet to come forward.Speaking on the overall law and order situation in Garo Hills, Sangma asserted that the government will strengthen the police force to deal with the challenges of militancy and terrorism.
