Man injured in bear attack near Dalhousie

DHARAMSALA: A man was attacked by a bear in Dalhousie area of Chamba district on Monday. After a distance of about 100 meters, a bear attacked him from behind. Local administration has provided Rs 10,000 relief to the injured person.Forest officials told that the incident took place in Lakadmandi area of the region. He had received injuries on neck and shoulders,” he said.District administration of Chamba have already issued a warning about bear attacks. Sunil also fought back and shouted for help, said officials.Divisional forest officer told that the man was lucky that he got the attention of the people after which he was saved.

Sunil Kumar, aged 25 years, had stepped out of his home. After a distance of about 100 meters, a bear attacked him from behind. Sunil also fought back and shouted for help, said officials.Divisional forest officer told that the man was lucky that he got the attention of the people after which he was saved. “The victim has been sent for treatment at a local hospital. He had received injuries on neck and shoulders,” he said.District administration of Chamba have already issued a warning about bear attacks. Human-animal conflict is normal these days.
