Government to develop ecotourism in Himachal CM Jai Ram Thakur

He said the Centre has enhanced minimum support price (MSP) of 14 major crops, benefitting more than 12 crore farmers in the country. SHIMLA: Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said the sole objective of the state government is overall development without vengeance or political vendetta towards anyone. Also, he said, the government wants to promote eco-tourism in the hill state, for which Rs 50 crore has been allocated for the first time. The CM said he took up the case of construction of an airport with the Union government and land has been allotted for the purpose. The state government is committed to double farmers’ income by 2022, he said.

SHIMLA: Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said the sole objective of the state government is overall development without vengeance or political vendetta towards anyone. He said a few leaders of the opposition have problems with the coordination between the state and Centre, due to which they are issuing baseless statements.To promote tourism, he said, the state-owned helicopter is being used as heli taxi for tourists three days a week. Also, he said, the government wants to promote eco-tourism in the hill state, for which Rs 50 crore has been allocated for the first time. The CM said he took up the case of construction of an airport with the Union government and land has been allotted for the purpose. The airport will be constructed in Mandi district soon, he said.Interacting with reporters at Jawalamukhi in Kangra on Sunday, before attending the meeting of the state BJP Morcha office-bearers and district presidents, Thakur said the state government’s Jan Manch programme is helping people get their grievances redressed at their doorsteps.He said opposition leaders claimed that the development projects initiated by the government were part of their dream. “Then what stopped them from implementing these schemes?” he asked, adding that the present government did not believe in dreaming but in real action. In a short span of six months, he said, the government has introduced a number of social welfare schemes.The four-year tenure of the Union government, he said, has been full of achievements. He said the Centre has enhanced minimum support price (MSP) of 14 major crops, benefitting more than 12 crore farmers in the country.
