Rain lashes Manali Dharamshala

SHIMLA: People in Himachal Pradesh had some respite from a spell of dry weather during the ongoing monsoon as rain restarted on Monday at several places in the state. Rain and thundershowers were occuring in Dharamshala , Palampur, Dalhousie and Manali since early morning, the meteorological (Met) department said.As per the data recorded by the department at 8.30 am on Monday, Dharamshala has witnessed 33.8 mm rainfall, followed by Palampur (27 mm), Dalhousie (26 mm) and Manali(8.6 mm).Other areas of plains, low hills and middle hills of the state may face thundershowers and rain later in the day, MeT Director Manmohan Singh said. The high hills of the state may witness rain and snow at some places from July 10, he said adding that rainy weather conditions would continue to prevail in several parts of the state till July 14.The weatherman said minimum and maximum temperatures increased by one to two degrees Celsius than normal during the last 24 hours.
