SHIMLA: Worried about meeting the same political fate as BJP senior leaders Lal Krishna Adani and Murli Manohar Joshi , former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh Virbhadra Singh has warned the Congress against speculations that are rife about him and senior party leader Vidya Stokes to be put in ‘Margdarshak Mandal’ of the party.Virbhadra, who had stayed away from the party meetings during the tour of AICC in-charge for Himachal affairs Rajni Patil till now, ensured his presence on the fifth day of her tour at Theog in Shimla district but only to attack state Congress president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.“I am young, and would remain in active politics. Two or three statements have come from the Pradesh Congress committee wherein it has been stated that Virbhadra Singh would be the ‘margdarshak’. Will my position be similar to the position of Advani and Joshi in the BJP?” said the six-time chief minister, while speaking to media.“I am more active than any of them,” he said, adding that he had no differences with anyone but being the man of principles he wanted the party to run accordingly. He also said that in coming days he would tour the entire state keeping in view with the upcoming parliamentary elections.According to sources, a faction led by Virbhadra has been demanding Sukhu’s removal for a long time, but Patil had said that only Rahul Gandhi can remove him. She said Sukhu was appointed by Rahul Gandhi and since last five years he had been working as the state president.She said sentiments of the public and party workers would be apprised to the high command as only it would decide whether to retain to relieve Sukhu.She said factionalism in the state Congress would be ended. Congress legislature party leader Mukesh Agnihotri said Virbhadra was the senior most and the best leader of the party and would continue to play active role in state politics.
