Himachal Pradesh governor goes on 10-day meditational retreat

DHARAMSHALA: Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat goes on a 10-day meditational retreat at Dharamkot village near here. They can only speak with their trainers at specific intervals.The place is known for meditational practices. There are many centers here and different type of mediation was taught to the people here. The area was known for mediation centers. The Governor would be spending time on meditation.

DHARAMSHALA: Himachal Pradesh Governor Acharya Devvrat goes on a 10-day meditational retreat at Dharamkot village near here. The area was known for mediation centers. The Governor would be spending time on meditation. He will remain disconnected from outer world without mobile phones and security.The governor started an introductory course in Vipassana — an ancient Indian form of silent meditation — at the Vipassana Centre in Dharamkot on Saturday.Representatives at the mediation center, who want to be quoted, said that as per the rules of the mediation center, he will not have access to mobile phones, television or newspapers, according to the rules of the centre. His day will begin at 4am and end at 9.30pm.He will eat simple meals and will not be allowed any food after mid-day. He will sleep on a concrete bed and will be given a blanket, bed-sheet and a pillow.Participants aren’t allowed to interact with each other. They can only speak with their trainers at specific intervals.The place is known for meditational practices. There are many centers here and different type of mediation was taught to the people here.
