On April 14 evening, Ankit, Bachchas and Chanakya drive to Malana to buy 2kg charas from Kishah Bhoot and Deva.

SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh high court has directed the state police to complete the interrogation of two Haryana youths, who are law students of Rohtak university and were arrested in connection with circulation of fake currency notes, within five days of their surrender. The two accused, along with two others, had printed fake currency notes of Rs 2,000 denomination and bought 2kg charas from Malana. Their plan was to buy a new vehicle after selling charas but were caught by the Himachal police.Ankit and Chanakya were earlier granted interim protection to surrender before the investigating officer.While disposing of a bunch of petitions by a common judgment, Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan on Tuesday said that on the completion of interrogation and recovery of any material object/fact, if any, within the aforesaid period, the petitioners sha shall be released on bail after furnishing Rs 1,00,000 bond each with two sureties of the like amount. Of the two parties to a surety, one would be a parent and the other a close relative.The court also directed the petitioners to surrender their passport, if any, and hand over the same to the investigating officer. “It is clarified that if the petitioners misuse the bail or violate the conditions imposed upon them, the investigating officer shall be at liberty to move this court for the cancellation of the bail,” the court added.The police had submitted in its status report that the petitioners were not revealing the truth regarding fake currency and charas and required interrogation in police custody. It was further submitted that Ankit has been found to be the main accused as he had purchased charas from Deva two or three times and knew him well.Police had earlier informed the court that investigations revealed that Ankit, Vikrant Bachchas, Parvesh Kundu and Chanakya had printed fake currency amounting to Rs six lakh with the help of a colour printer (of Kundu) in OMEX City flat in Rohtak in April this year. On April 12, all the four accused, along with Bachchas girlfriend, had stayed in Poornima Guest House at Kasol in Kullu district and had come in a car (HR51-BG-0297). On April 14 evening, Ankit, Bachchas and Chanakya drive to Malana to buy 2kg charas from Kishah Bhoot and Deva. In payment, Ankit gave Deva fake currency notes amounting to Rs 5,60,000. From Deva, the fake currency was put into circulation as he made purchases and the some of the notes ended up in a bank, where they were spotted by a banker. The bank lodged a police complaint on April 26, and the trail led to Deva and his customers from Rohtak varsity. Police had picked up all the accused — Deva, Ankit, Bachchas, Kundu and Chanakya — and presented them before the court. However, while three were arrested, Ankit and Chanakya managed to get anticipatory bail.
