131 vacant posts in Himachal Pradesh University will be filled soon, says VC

As many as 131 posts of teaching staff which are lying vacant in the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) will soon be filled, Vice Chancellor Sikander Kumar said on Tuesday. At present, as many as 131 posts of assistant professor and around 80 posts of non-teaching staff are lying vacant, according to reports. Kumar took charge as the new Vice- Chancellor of the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) earlier in August after the post was lying vacant for almost 14 months, sources said. “Sanction for filling the 131 vacant posts of teaching staff has already been taken from the executive council and the process of filling these posts will be initiated soon after the verdict,” Kumar said. Soon after he took charge as HPU’s VC on August 3, Kumar had constituted a committee to demarcate the land of HP University after which the construction of hostels, beautification of the campus and other facilities would be created, said the sources.
