Rescue operations on for 150 shepherds, livestock

The shepherds have started to cross the Muraladhar Pass, located at an atltitude of 4,500 mtr from the sea level by Wednesday afternoon.He said that a trail has been formed across Muraladhar Pass and the remaning shepherds and their livestock would be rescued in the next two days. "Clear skies are predicted for the next two days. We expect to rescue the shepherds easily in the coming days," added Shukla.About 150 shepherds and an estimated 15,000-strong livestock were trapped in Bara Bhangal rally since September 21. It was only after a few videos went viral on social media, showing the pathetic situation of the shepherds that teams were constituted and were sent. At present four teams comprising 32 people, including mountaneers.
