9 HP dists get 2393 complaints during Jan Manch

Shimla: As many as 2,393 complaints and demands were received during the sixth ‘Jan Manch’ programme organized in nine districts of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. Rural development and panchayati raj minister Virender Kanwar received 215 demands and complaints from 12 panchayats during the ‘Jan Manch’ organized at Jalag in Kangra district. As many as 285 demands and complaints were received from the public. He said a rest house with all facilities would be constructed at Nihri to facilitate pilgrims going to famous Kamrunag temple. Most of the public grievances were redressed on the spot while the officials concerned were directed to solve the public problems as soon as possible.

Free medical check-up camps were also organized and free LPG connections were distributed among the women.Food, civil supplies and consumer affairs minister Kishan Kapoor chaired the programme in Hamirpur district, where people came with complaints mostly related to water connections, drinking water, revenue and electricity supply. As many as 285 demands and complaints were received from the public. The minister distributed LPG connections among 40 women beneficiaries and doctors examined 195 persons at a medical camp.Power minister Anil Sharma in presence of officials from all departments listened to 151 demands and complaints from people at Gadsa in Kullu district and 105 of them were settled on the spot. Fixed deposits under Balika Suraksha Yojana and Beti Hai Anmol Yojana were handed over to 36 girls. Kullu chief medical officer Sushil Chander said free medical check-up camps were also organized at Gadsa. Around 284 demands and complaints were received at Kunihar in Solan district, where the programme was presided over by agriculture and tribal development minister Dr Ram Lal Markanda.The ‘Jan Manch’ in Chamba district was held at Salooni, which was chaired by health minister Vipin Singh Parmar. He received 362 cases and most of them were settled on the spot. He distributed 170 LPG connections among women beneficiaries and 147 FDs among baby girls. About 132 complaints and demands were received by industries minister Bikram Singh at Kamrau in Shillai constituency of Sirmaur district.Forest and transport minister Govind Singh Thakur chaired the ‘Jan Manch’ at Nihri in Mandi district, where he received 218 complaints and demands and most of them were settled on the spot. He said a rest house with all facilities would be constructed at Nihri to facilitate pilgrims going to famous Kamrunag temple. Social justice and empowerment minister Rajiv Saizal chaired the Jan Manch at Karloti in Bilaspur district, where he received 306 cases.Chief whip and coordinator of the programme Narender Bragta chaired the function at Nerwa in Shimla district and disposed of 134 cases from a total 440 demands and complaints.
