CM Jai Ram Thakur meets Arun Jaitley, raises concerns of businessmen, farmers

Due to this, he said, businessmen are not getting collateral-free loans under flagship programmes of the Government of India (GoI).He requested Jaitley to facilitate easy and hassle-free credit facility under various GoI schemes to target groups through cooperative banks. SHIMLA : Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur met Union finance minister Arun Jaitley in New Delhi and told him of the problems faced by businessmen because of state cooperative banks not being made members of lending institutions under the credit guarantee fund trust for micro and small enterprises (CGTMSE) and small farmers agri-business consortium (SFAC). Arun Jaitley assured all possible help in these matters. He said IDP and Forests for Prosperity (FPP) were merged as they were being implemented by the same department.But, he said, objectives and implementation strategies of both projects are different. The IDP, he explained, aimed at addressing the agrarian sector and mitigating the effects of climate change, improve availability of water for irrigation and increase agricultural productivity and livelihood of farmers by directly working with gram panchayats.
