Jawalamukhi municipal council official told to appear in court

SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh high court on Thursday directed the executive officer of the municipal council, Jawalamukhi , to remain present in court, along with the required records to show cause as to how and in what manner land was allotted to a petitioner or other similarly placed persons. The court further directed him to explain the mode of allotment adopted by the MC for such allotments.A division bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ajay Mohan Goel passed these orders on a writ petition filed by Satinder Singh Gulari of Bohan village, post office and tehsil , Jawalamukhi, in Kangra district The petitioner has alleged in the petition that he was allotted a vacant plot for 25 years on lease at the rate of Rs 150 per month on the Kangra road in Jawalamukhi by the executive officer in Jawalamukhi MC and he was asked to deposit Rs 5,000 as security and to execute the agreement on his behalf.The court has now posted the matter for December 24 for further hearing.
