Himachal gets new railway line in Una

DHARAMSHALA: One of the busiest shrines in the region, the Chintpurni temple in Himachal's Una district has been connected by a rail line. Sinha said the rail network was sanctioned in 1982 and Rs 335 crores was invested to bring the rail line till Daulatpur area. "This railway line will be extended till Talwara and Mukerian in Punjab," he said. It was during 2014 Lok Sabha elections that BJP MP Anurag Thakur had promised the Bhanupali-Bilaspur- Leh rail line. Manoj Sinha, minister of state, Railways, on Tuesday inaugurated the new railway link from Daulatpur area to Delhi.

Sinha said the rail network was sanctioned in 1982 and Rs 335 crores was invested to bring the rail line till Daulatpur area."This railway line will be extended till Talwara and Mukerian in Punjab," he said. A station on this line at Kuneran village has been named as Chintpurni Marg as it is close to the Chintpurni temple.BJP MP Anurag Thakur and Himachal cabinet minister Virender Kanwar were also present at the opening. It was during 2014 Lok Sabha elections that BJP MP Anurag Thakur had promised the Bhanupali-Bilaspur- Leh rail line.
