BJP leaders join hands for Shanta Kumar in closed door meet; ticket aspirants absent

Kumar has served terms as former Chief Minister and union minister, he is the senior most party leader in state.Party has decided to start various types of workshops at block level which will be attended by the senior party leaders. DHARAMSHALA: BJP leaders, those sitting in power including cabinet ministers, MLAs and senior party workers all came together for BJP MP Shanta Kumar to hold a closed door meeting chaired by Kumar to form strategies for upcoming parliamentary polls.But those eyeing for party tickets not turned up for this meeting.The meeting was organized at the resort near here. Party president of Chamba district , DS Thakur, also not attended this meeting.When contacted party office bearers remained silent on absence on Tilok Kapoor, while the said that Pathania, Dhawala and DS Thakur have some personal reasons and were unable to attend the meeting which they have conveyed earlier.BJP had given a call to few of the other prominent persons associated with the party.Shanta Kumar when questioned about this will to contest elections have said that he has conveyed his will to party high command and he is a loyal worker of the party will obey the orders of party. It started at 10 in the morning and concluded near 3.00 PM.Kumar (84) chaired the meeting, he is considered as the probable candidate for the BJP from Kangra parliamentary constituency.Recently, he was trolled for a statement issued by him that he is a young man of 84 year and was ready to fight at every front for the party.Leaders who were eyeing for the party tickets who don’t wanted to be quoted here have said that the youngness of the Kumar will destroy the political careers of many other party workers.Tirlok Kapoor, national vice president of BJP tribal morcha, who is openly placing himself as a candidate for party ticket in upcoming elections not participated in this meeting.BJP MLAs Ramesh Dhawala and Rakesh Pathania were also absent from this meet.
