BJP MP Anurag Thakur writes to Virbhadra Singh on SAI training centre

The STC Scheme aims at grooming junior level sports persons in the age group of 12 to 18 years. In order to ensure that the deserving candidates get the right training, facility and infrastructure, establishment of STC in Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency will provide a platform to connect talent with opportunity. "A total of 26 disciplines are covered under the scheme and as per the need of the State, sport disciplines can be selected. ""Himachal Pradesh youth has huge appetite for sports and houses sporting talent in abundance. ""In order to establish and run SAI Centres, the State Government is required to provide all the infrastructure facilities with SAI providing boarding and lodging to the selected trainees, scientific training / equipment support and minor current repairs of the infrastructure.

SHIMLA: Hamirpur MP of BJP, Anurag Thakur has raised the issue of establishment of SAI Training Centre in his parliamentary constituency, Una and Hamirpur district and has written to Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh regarding the same.In his letter, Anurag Thakur said, "To develop the culture of sports in the country, Sports Authority of India has initiated STC Scheme, as a party of which the Central and State Government work together for collaborating efforts on sports development. The STC Scheme aims at grooming junior level sports persons in the age group of 12 to 18 years.""In order to establish and run SAI Centres, the State Government is required to provide all the infrastructure facilities with SAI providing boarding and lodging to the selected trainees, scientific training / equipment support and minor current repairs of the infrastructure.""Himachal Pradesh youth has huge appetite for sports and houses sporting talent in abundance. The 26 sport disciplines are: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Fencing, Football , Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Karate, Canoeing & Kayaking, Sepaktakraw, Shooting, Softball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling & Wushu.
