ISLAMABAD: Pakistan 's minister for human rights Dr Shireen Mazari said she has prepared a proposal on the resolution of the Kashmir dispute which she would present to the newly-elected prime minister Imran Khan in a week's time.Mazari made this revelation during a TV talk show earlier this week but refused to disclose the contents of the document. She described the proposal as a "model for conflict resolution", adding that it was "almost ready" as she had been working on it for quite some time."We will circulate it among all the stakeholders, including the prime minister and the cabinet ministers. If the draft is approved, we will move forward on it," Mazari said.Mazari is said to have close ties with the powerful military establishment and before her swearing-in, it was even being speculated that she might be given the defence portfolio in the Imran Khan government.She was the director general of the Institute of Strategic Studies, a think tank on defence and security related issues. Earlier, she also served as a professor in defence and strategic studies department of Qaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad It is because of these credentials that observers are giving importance to Mazari's yet-to-be-disclosed proposal. "I believe that there would be military input in Mazari's proposal since she knows the importance and delicacy of the Army's role in matters related to India, Afghanistan and US," an analyst, Aurangzeb Khan, told TOI.Shireen Mazari described the proposal as a 'model for conflict resolution', adding that it was 'almost ready' as she had been working on it for quite some time
