MOHALI: Poor visibility delayed the arrival of nine flights at the Chandigarh international airport on Monday, with those from Kolkata and Srinagar coming late by more than four hours.IndiGo flight 6E372 from Kolkata arrived 4.32 hours late at 12.02 pm against its scheduled arrival of 7.30 am. Similarly, IndiGo flight 6E376 from Srinagar was delayed by 4.29 hours and arrived at 3.14 pm against scheduled arrival of 10.45 am. Air India subsidiary Alliance Express flight CD 831 from Delhi arrived late by 1.48 hours at 8.48 am against scheduled arrival of 7 am.Last year during the winter season, out of the 33 operational flights, around 70% of the flights saw delayed arrivals. Passengers are in for inconvenience due to regular delays and cancellation of flights owing to poor visibility. Owing to the ill-equipped airport using outdated landing system not supporting the visibility factors in absence of advanced instrument landing system, IndiGo had announced to suspend its Dubai flight operations from December 15 to February 15. On the tracks, five trains were delayed due to fog, with Unchahar Express from Chandigarh to Allahabad by 7 hours and 16 minutes.
