SRINAGAR: Kashmir hoteliers' bodies have asked tourists who have been stranded in the Valley following the cross-border escalations to stay in their hotels free of cost. Some of those who have offered free food and lodging include luxury properties too. The Jammu & Kashmir Hoteliers' Club has extended the offer stating that tourists should not feel threatened due to current tensions. Chairman of the club and hotel-chain owner Mustaq Ahmad Chaya said the tourists are "welcome to stay free at our hotels in the Valley"."We have a history of hospitality. In this situation, if there are tourists facing financial issues, they can stay in any of our hotels for free. All hoteliers have been asked to take care of outsiders," Chaya added.The Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Association also appealed to tourists stranded in Srinagar due to closure of airports and highways to contact them so their accommodation and food is facilitated until the situation returns to normal. They have also provided their phone numbers for tourists who need help.
