SURAT: Police rescued a one year old boy from a 25-year-old man in Bardoli town of Surat district on Tuesday after he allegedly kidnapped the child to force his mother to elope with him. The accused had friendship with the child’s mother before marriage and he wanted to continue relationship with her in future.Police rescued Harshit Agarwal, son of a saree trader, from near a temple in Bardoli on Tuesday after keeping watch over the accused Rohan Naik , a resident of Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan . Police arrested the accused from the spot with help of rural police.The complaint was lodged by mother of the child on Monday evening after the child was kidnapped by the accused from Puna area. “Police have rescued the child safely and he was united with his parents. The accused has been arrested and we are investigating the case," said R L Solanki , assistant commissioner of police A division.The accused had kidnapped the child on Monday from near Surat railway station after forcing his mother to come along. The accused knew the mother before she got married in Surat and he had developed likings for her. Naik was forcing the woman to start life with him while the woman had refused.
