Sporadic rain in south Gujarat, drizzle in Ahmedabad

On Sunday, some parts of South Gujarat received sporadic rains as India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded 8.2mm rain in Surat and 7mm rain in Valsad district.IMD website predicts light to moderate rain in most parts of the state on Monday. For next four days, central and northern parts of the state, Saurashtra and Kutch region would mostly remain dry whereas South Gujarat would receive some much-needed rain. AHMEDABAD: While the sun played hide-and-seek with the city on Sunday, Saturday night brought drizzle in some parts of the city. IMD officials are confident that the rains will follow the pattern. Met department officials said that a system is forming off the coast of Maharashtra which is expected to reach the state this week.The system may bring rains.

Traditionally the third week of June announces arrival of monsoon in most parts of the state. IMD officials are confident that the rains will follow the pattern.
