Doc booked for failing to repay Rs 1cr loan to ex-wife

However, as Mandani stopped paying the loan, Vaishnav started getting reminders from the bank to repay it.The couple had availed the loan to set up a hospital at Kadodara. Surat: A female ophthalmologist lodged a cheating complaint against her ex-husband, an orthopaedic doctor , in Sarthana police station on Tuesday. They separated eight months ago due to personal disputes. “Mandani told police that he repaid some portion of the loan amount but under what circumstances he stopped payment of the rest is yet to get investigated,” said a police officer at Sarthana police station.The doctor couple had got married in 2009 and have a two-year-old daughter.

Surat: A female ophthalmologist lodged a cheating complaint against her ex-husband, an orthopaedic doctor , in Sarthana police station on Tuesday. The woman alleged that her husband did not repay a loan of Rs 1 crore that he had taken in her name for building a hospital.Based on the complaint of Poonam Vaishnav, police booked Sanjay Mandani, a resident of Mota Varachha, under various Sections 406 (breach of trust), 418 (cheating with knowledge that wrongful loss may ensue to person whose interest offender is bound to protect) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.In her complaint, Vaishnav alleged that due to marital dispute she and her husband got separated eight months ago.
