Indigo to launch flight services in August

Surat: Indigo airlines is all set to launch its flight services from Surat in the third week of August.Navsari MP C R Paatil, who is in touch with the top authorities of Indigo, tweeted on Thursday, stating that the airline will be connecting Surat with seven destinations, including Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Goa. The flight services may start between August 15 and August 17.The private airline has submitted an application to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for space allotment at Surat airport to carry out operations. The Indigo management is convinced and they have shown their willingness to operate from Surat.”Jain added, “The airline has started recruiting ground staff and they have asked for the office space at Surat airport.” We have submitted a detailed presentation on the air traffic potential to various destinations from Surat. Also, the airline is believed to have started the recruitment of ground staff for handling flight operations at the airport.Sources said the senior airline officials have visited the Diamond City on three different occasions and they seem to have finalized their plan to connect Surat with other sectors.Member of ‘We Work for a Working Airport at Surat’ Sanjay Jain said, “Our group members are in constant touch with Indigo officials from last one year.
