Man fails to repay loan borrowed as ‘doctor’, booked

He applied for loan to purchase medical equipment under ‘Dena Doctor Plus Scheme’ of the bank. The accused borrowed loan from the bank using fake identity of being a doctor and did not repay the amount.According to case details, a resident of Jahangirpura Ajay Chaudhary borrowed the loan from Dena Bank branch at Begampura posing as doctor, while Jay Kumar Pillai of Bhatena signed as a guarantor. The complaint was lodged by branch manager Vinod Bhardwaj against the duo.The accused had approached Dena Bank in 2014. The accused borrowed loan from the bank using fake identity of being a doctor and did not repay the amount.According to case details, a resident of Jahangirpura Ajay Chaudhary borrowed the loan from Dena Bank branch at Begampura posing as doctor, while Jay Kumar Pillai of Bhatena signed as a guarantor. The complaint was lodged by branch manager Vinod Bhardwaj against the duo.The accused had approached Dena Bank in 2014. He applied for loan to purchase medical equipment under ‘Dena Doctor Plus Scheme’ of the bank. While applying for the loan, Chaudhary put up his graduation papers as MBBS from Saurashtra University. He also produced certificate of diploma in medical radio diagnosis. The police investigation revealed that both the certificates were forged.The accused applied for loan to buy sonography machine and an ambulance. He also produced some payment receipts in the bank for issuance of the loan amount. He got the money deposited in his bank account in another bank and withdrew the money. Initially, he deposited cheques, but the payment was rejected on it.“The bank officials said the accused is facing legal action by other banks too for non-payment of loan. Chaudhary’s three apartments on Dumas road have been sealed by banks,” a police officer in Salabatpura police station said.“Only after the accused is arrested will it be clear if he was practising as a doctor in the city. It is also a matter of investigation that from where he brought the degree certificate of MBBS,” the police said.The accused have been booked under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery) and 471 (using forged documents a real).
