Two get 10 years in jail for printing counterfeit notes

SURAT: Two men were convicted for printing and circulating counterfeit notes by a local court on Tuesday. The raid was carried out after the dummy buyer returned with four fake notes from the flat.Police recovered 977 counterfeit notes of Rs50, Rs100 and Rs500 face value. The convicts were scanning and printing the notes on the scanner and printers usually found in offices. They had specific information about the convicts selling four fake notes of Rs500 against one original note having face value of Rs500. The convicts were awarded 10 years in jail .

SURAT: Two men were convicted for printing and circulating counterfeit notes by a local court on Tuesday. The convicts were awarded 10 years in jail . A minor arrested for his involvement in the racket was earlier sent to juvenile home by the court.Chirag Vora, 26, and Vimal Gadhadara, 30, were sent to jail for 10 years by the court under Indian Penal Code section 489. A 17-year-old boy had been sent to juvenile home soon after his arrest. The convicts, who were running the racket from a residential apartment in Sarthana, were arrested by special operations group (SOG) in January 2012.“The court considered all scientific evidences produced before it and also the raid carried out by the police while announcing the verdict. Two convicts were awarded 10 years in jail while one minor had been earlier sent to the juvenile home,” said Kishore Revaliya, additional public prosecutor.The police sent a dummy buyer to the first floor flat in an apartment of Vraj Bhoomi Township falling under the limits of Kapodra police station. They had specific information about the convicts selling four fake notes of Rs500 against one original note having face value of Rs500.
