Dead Technicianrsquos organs save three lives

The organ donation was facilitated by Donate Life, a non-government organization. He was rushed to Sunshine Hospital and the doctors there declared him dead on July 7.A team of doctors from the Institute of Kidney Diseases and Research Centre, Ahmedabad harvested the organs. His liver was transplanted into the body of Sunit R Sheth, 50, a resident of Anjar. One of Daxesh’s kidneys was transplanted into the body of Chandravadan B Shah, 56, and the other into the body of Harshad Z Chandpara, 39, both residents of Ahmedabad. He lived with his parents, wife and seven-year-old son at Hajira colony phase II.

SURAT: The decision of family members of an ONGC employee to donate his organs after he died in an accident has given a new lease of life to three persons here on Tuesday.Daxesh P Patel, 31, a native of Kheda district , who worked as a technical assistant in ONGC’s Hajira plant, died in an accident. He lived with his parents, wife and seven-year-old son at Hajira colony phase II. Pravin Patel, 57, his father; Indira Patel, 50, mother; and Parul Patel, 31, wife; agreed to donate his kidneys and liver.Daxesh was working in the quality and process control laboratory (QPCL) of ONGC when he suffered burn injuries while filtering aviation turbine fuel (ATF) on July 2 in the premises of plant.
