Waterlogging was a problem at most places, except for some new city areas.
The continuous rainfall inundated railway underpasses in Limbayat, Dindoli and Varachha while many posh areas like VIP Road saw heavy waterlogging.
Sources said that the potholes in many areas like Athwa, Central zone, Limbayat, Udhna and Varachha were not repaired before the rain.
The compound wall of Katargam police station tilted dangerously due to the rain and wind while a house wall collapsed in Rander.
Major parts of Udhna Road and Udhna-Navsari Road were also inundated while roads in Varachha, including the main road, were flooded. It was only after Chauta Bazaar started getting flooded that SMC woke up to the urgency of filling up the potholes on the road.
