SURAT: Two persons on a motorcycle were killed in an accident on Bhestan-Dindoli Road on Saturday evening. A goods van coming from wrong side of the bridge had rammed into their motorcycle. Namdev, a roadside eatery owner and resident of Bhestan Aawas, died on the spot along with his friend who was riding pillion on his motorcycle. Police are yet to identify the other deceased.The driver of the goods van escaped leaving his vehicle behind. Police investigation revealed that the van was on the wrong side of the road when it hit the motorcycle from the front.“We are collecting more information about the deceased. We are searching for the driver of the goods van who escaped from the spot after the accident,” said a police officer from Dindoli police station.The bodies were sent to Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research (SMIMER) for post-mortem. In a similar accident, a drunk driver of Pajero coming from wrong side had rammed into a motorcycle on Dindoli bridge,killing three members of a family on July 1.
