Boy thrown into river by abductors still not traced

The boy Neev Patel’s father Nishith, who lives in Vanessa village in the district, had told police that the seven persons had kidnapped the boy in a rickshaw from his car on Monday. Surat: Even 24 hours after seven abductors stuffed a two-and-half-year-old boy in sack and threw him in river Mindhola, the fire brigade and the police teams have not been able to trace him.The teams are searching in all the rivulets coming out of river Mindhola that goes up to Lajpore and then meets the sea. He tried chasing them for nearly 15 km but they flung him into the river. Once we find the boy, we the mysterious case will be unravelled.”Asked about the condition of the parents, the officer said that the couple seemed be normal despite such a situation. However, police are taking his statement with a pinch of salt.Dr Mahesh Naik, superintendent of police, Surat, said, “At present, our priority is to locate the boy and the entire effort is concentrated in this direction.” Naik also said that the claims of Nishith being unable to chase down a rickshaw in his car also raises several questions.An official from Palsana police said, “We have questioned and recorded statement of the the boy’s father and there are many contradictions.
