Surat: City police are yet to detect the double murder of the mother-son duo even two months after their bodies were found stuffed in a plastic bag from a farm in Dindoli. The decomposed bodies were found on May 19 by locals. The identities of the deceased is yet to been ascertained.A similar double murder case of Pandesara where bodies of a 25-year-old woman and her six-year-old son was found in plastic bag, also remains undetected. DNA comparison of the samples collected from bodies established that they were mother and son.“We are yet to detect the Dindoli double murder despite several attempts. We tried to ascertain identity of the deceased by matching DNA with those of missing persons from different police stations but it did not help,” said Satish Sharma, city police commissioner.“In absence of identity of the deceased we are unable to detect the case,” added Sharma.Surat city police has sent teams to tribal areas of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh to find out if any woman was missing from that area. Police had earlier claimed that in absence of CCTV camera surveillance and mobile location details it is proving challenging to detect the murder.It should be noted that the victims of the Pandesara sexual assault and murder case were identified only after the accused were nabbed. A 11-year-old girl’s rape and murder and killing of her mother in Pandesara was cracked by Ahmedabad crime branch within four days of joining investigation with help of a CCTV footage in April this year.
