SuratBharuch: Several parts of South Gujarat received heavy downpour with Ankleshwar and Bharuch towns recording 124mm and 68mm of rain, respectively until 6pm on Friday. The remaining districts of South Gujarat recorded an average of 30 to 55mm of rain. A number of housing societies in the industrial town were waterlogged. Waghai in the Dang received 75mm of rain during the period.

Three dilapidated houses collapsed in Vairagiwad in old Bharuch area of the town, but luckily there were no casualties, sources said.Many places like Sardar Park in Ankleshwar GIDC were flooded. A number of housing societies in the industrial town were waterlogged. Surat city recorded 41mm of rain in 12 hours until 6pm on Friday, flooding many areas for some time.People had to wade through along with their vehicles the waterlogged railway underpasses at Limbayat, Anjana and Dindoli.Four incidents of tree uprooting occurred at Children’s Park at Majura Gate, Varachha Mini Bazaar and Nanpura Timaliyawad and City Light. An autorickshaw got trapped in rainwater on Saroli-Ethan Road.The driver along with his autorickshaw was pulled out of the water by fire brigade officials. The remaining districts of South Gujarat recorded an average of 30 to 55mm of rain. Waghai in the Dang received 75mm of rain during the period.
