Surat: Three students from the city have excelled in the final examinations of CA course conducted in May 2018 by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.Anurag Bagaria has secured all-India rank 3; Devansh Shah all-India rank 4 and Saurabh Gourisaria all-india rank 5 in the examinations conducted on the basis of existing syllabus for the course, the results of which were declared on Friday. Three other CA students namely Gopal Malani, Virag Shah and Raj Mehta secured 16th, 45th and 48th ranks respectively in the final examinations in the country, maintaining the glittering tradition of the city in one of toughest tests for the coveted professional course.Meanwhile, Surat’s Prit Shah emerged topper in the final examinations of CA course conducted as per the revised syllabus with Naman Kejriwal coming 6th, Bhavik Dudhwala 30th and Hem Shah 32nd in the country.Ravi Chahawchharia, who conducts coaching classes, said, “Anurag Bagaria scored 597 marks out of 800, which is highest marks ever obtained by anyone in the CA examinations in Surat.”Anurag said, “I would like to take up a corporate job. I also plan to do either CFA or MBA (finance).”His father is a textile businessman and mother a housewife. Anurag is first chartered accountant in the family. The passing percentage for CA final examinations in the existing syllabus was 9.09, whereas in the revised syllabus it was 9.83 for both groups this term in the country.
