Surat Municipal Corporation starts recovery of Rs 46 cr property tax from Reliance, BSNL

A 26-year-old man was booked at Kapodra police station on Thursday for raping a 19-year-old woman. The rape survivor returned to the city when the accused, who had raped her several times, refused to marry her.She approached police with her family members and lodged a complaint against the accused. Police are yet to arrest him. Accused Rasheed alias Bablu, a resident of Siddi in Madhya Pradesh , had promised to marry the girl, prompting her to elope with him to his native place.The accused and the rape survivor became friends as they happened to be living in neighbouring houses in Kapodra area of the city.
