Water connection of 4 commercial properties severed

Officials warned that commercial property owners who don’t pay water dues in time will face severe action.The civic body held as special drive September 15-17 to identify defaulters who have not paid the water charges. They collected Rs 19.84 lakh from the users of eight commercial units. Administrative charges of Rs 50,000 was also recovered from the property owners. Surat: The water department officials of Rander zone of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) severed the water connections of four entities including MacDonald’s restaurant, Triniti Business Park, Surti Villa Restaurant and Star Corner in Adajan, Pal and Palanpore areas on Monday for not paying the water bills.SMC officials also issued the notices for recovery of over Rs15 lakh from these four commercial units for reconnection of the water pipeline.
