Thieves target houses in Amroli again escape with Rs 24L valuables on third day

Surat: Goods and cash worth Rs2.4 lakh were stolen by thieves from two houses located in the limits of Amroli and Rander police stations of the city on Sunday night. They escaped with cash and goods worth Rs24,500 from Mistry’s house. The family had gone to a relative’s house.Police said thieves entered the house by breaking the latch of the door. The thieves also targeted Sunil Mistry’s house at Tadwadi. The thieves broke the locks of the house and of the cupboard to steal the valuables.

Surat: Goods and cash worth Rs2.4 lakh were stolen by thieves from two houses located in the limits of Amroli and Rander police stations of the city on Sunday night. This was third theft in three days in Amroli.Thieves entered Jagdish Motisariya’s house in Adarshnagar Society in Amroli between Friday and Sunday last and escaped with cash and goods worth Rs2.15 lakh. The family had gone to a relative’s house.Police said thieves entered the house by breaking the latch of the door. The second door in the house didn’t have a latch but a lock. They removed the door from the socket itself.“The thieves broke the cupboard’s locker and escaped with Rs1.05 lakh cash and gold and silver ornaments worth Rs1.10 lakh. The thieves had used the same modus operandi in three thefts in the area in the past three days. We took help of FSL experts and dog squad. There are no CCTV cameras in the area. We are following a few leads and are hopeful of catching the thieves,” a police officer said. The thieves also targeted Sunil Mistry’s house at Tadwadi. They escaped with cash and goods worth Rs24,500 from Mistry’s house. The family had gone out of the city on a short vacation from November 8 to 11. The thieves broke the locks of the house and of the cupboard to steal the valuables.
