Robbers and thieves target people on city roads

Surat: Robbers and thieves targeted some people on roads in different areas of the city in the past few days. Two men on a motorcycle looted a phone worth Rs11,000 from Shradhha Jain when she was near Dhiraj Sons. Jain, a resident of Althan, was walking on road on Wednesday at around 10pm when her phone was looted by the robbers. Police registered four incidents and started investigation on Friday.An unidentified person was booked at Kapodra police station for stealing Rs4 lakh cash, chequebooks and important documents from a car. Police are examining CCTV footages of the areas where the loots and thefts had occurred to zero in on the culprits.

Chandu Barvaliya, 47, a builder, had parked his car near Ashar Complex in Varachha when an unidentified person stole the cash and other valuables after breaking its door glass.In two loots registered at Khatodara police station, unidentified bike-borne robbers targeted victims in areas under its jurisdiction. Jain, a resident of Althan, was walking on road on Wednesday at around 10pm when her phone was looted by the robbers. She lodged her complaint on Friday.A mobile phone worth Rs10,000 was looted from Shivanand Tiwari, a resident of City Light, when he was near Anuvrat Dwar on Thursday.An unidentified person on a motorcycle looted his phone when he was going on his bicycle.A phone worth Rs18,990 belonging to Sandeep Dhorajiya, a resident of Simada, was stolen from under Parvat Patiya bridge. A motorcyclist came in front of Dhorajiya’s car after which the complainant got down to warn him. Dhorajiya’s phone was stolen just then by the person from his trousers’ pocket. Police are examining CCTV footages of the areas where the loots and thefts had occurred to zero in on the culprits.
