Burglars steal valuables worth Rs3.51 lakh from three cars in Surat

The burglars began stealing valuables in morning and by evening they had picked up valuables worth Rs3.51 lakh from the cars, without getting caught. An unidentified person broke glass of Hiral Patel’s car and stole cash and valuables worth Rs2.65 lakh. The burglar escaped with some documents, a laptop, Rs2.10 lakh cash and a wrist watch of Patel, a resident of Jahangirpura. He found the valuables missing upon his return at 1.30pm.Akshaya Shah, a resident of Vesu, too suffered similar loss when cash and valuables worth Rs9,000 were stolen from her car. He had parked his car on service road in front of Rahul Raj Mall at around 11.30am. He found the valuables missing upon his return at 1.30pm.Akshaya Shah, a resident of Vesu, too suffered similar loss when cash and valuables worth Rs9,000 were stolen from her car. Shah had parked her car on service road in front of V R Mall at around 11.30am and found its glass broken when she returned at 2.30pm. She realized that her bag that contained a phone and Rs4,000 cash had been stolen.Jenish Parmar, 29, a resident of Mangrol in Surat district, who had come to the city for shopping lost valuables worth Rs77,000 kept in his car. He had parked his car on service road in front of V R Mall at around 5pm. He found the valuables missing that included jewellery, a mobile phone and newly purchased clothes when he returned at 5.45pm. The burglar had used a duplicate key to open Parmar’s car.“We are examining CCTV footages of the area. Our investigation is on to ascertain the identity of the burglars. So far, no one has been identified,” said a police officer of Umra police station.
