Surat Municipal Corporation starts recovery of Rs 46 cr property tax from Reliance, BSNL

Surat: A man was mowed down by a truck on Sachin-Magdalla road near Abhva Chowkdi on Thursday afternoon. The interrogation of the driver was on and no formal arrest has been made.Police have registered case of causing death by negligence. The accident led to people blocking road and protesting over safety on roads.According to Dumas police, Sanjay Ramesh Patel of Budia village was crossing the road at Abhva Chowkedi when a truck carrying container coming from Hajira hit him, killing him on the spot.The locals from nearby villages gathered and blocked the road demanding arrest of the truck driver. Police had to intervene to take custody of driver Ramchandra R Yadav.
