10000 youth to take oath No love marriage without parentsrsquo consent

“Many youngsters antagonize their parents when the latter raise objections to their love marriage. Many even run away from homes and get married, but such relationships turn out to be short-lived. By taking such an oath, these students will be better committed to respect the feelings of their parents,” said Choksi.Samadrita Banerjee, a class XI commerce student of Sanskar Bharti said , “I will be taking this oat for the sake of my parents. We want to promote the importance of parents’ guidance when it comes to taking such a big decision of life.”The event will be held simultaneously in nearly 15 schools and colleges where students readily agreed to take this oath. They don’t understand the importance of their guidance and the reasons for objection.

SURAT: They may fall in love at first sight, but marriage against parents’ wishes would be a strict no.On Valentine’s Day , nearly 10,000 youngsters will be taking an oath not to marry without the consent of their parents, even if it means ending their romatic relationship.Hasyamev Jayate, a voluntary organization run by laughter therapist Kamlesh Masalawala, has organized this unique event across 12 schools where boys and girls will pledge to married if their parents have serious objections to love marriage.Masalawala, who runs a number of laughter and crying clubs in the city said, “These days, many youngsters fall in love and take an impulsive decision to get married. Many even run away from homes and get married, but such relationships turn out to be short-lived. We want to promote the importance of parents’ guidance when it comes to taking such a big decision of life.”The event will be held simultaneously in nearly 15 schools and colleges where students readily agreed to take this oath. These schools include Sanskar Bharti in Palanpur Patiya, Presidency High School in Adajan, Sanskar Kunj Gyanpith , Swaminarayan MV Vidyalaya, Sun Grace Vidyalaya, Navchetna Vidyalaya in Varachha, and Gyan Ganga Vidyalaya to name a few.Poet Mukul Choksi, who is also one of the organizers of the event, has penned the special oath. “Many youngsters antagonize their parents when the latter raise objections to their love marriage. I will always respect their decision because no one in the world has sacrificed more for me than them.”Vikas Doshi, who runs an NGO named Youth Nation said, “We will be galvanizing our teams at number of colleges and schools including Wadia Women’s college and Lourdes Convent among others.”NM Karia, trustee of Presidency High School, said, “Our five schools will be joining this unique programme.”
