Surat: Farmer leaders from South Gujarat under the aegis of Gujarat Khedut Samaj (GKS) met Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president and leader of opposition in Gujarat Assembly on Tuesday over the issues facing the farmers in the region ahead of the visit of Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Valsad’s Dharampur.A meeting was organized by GKS with GPCC president Amit Chavda and opposition Congress leader Paresh Dhanani at Amadpore in Navsari district.Farmer leaders said the GKS has submitted a list of 24 demands and that it will be forwarded to Congress president Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Valsad’s Dharampur on February 14. Amit Chavda and Paresh Dhanani have assured to include some of the demands of the farmers in the party manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.GKS president Jayesh Patel said, “A delegation of South Gujarat farmer leaders will be meeting Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Dharampur on February 14.
