Onstreet parking charges to be levied from today

For two-wheelers, Rs 10 will be levied for the first three hours and then Rs 15 for six hours. Maximum charges will be maximum of Rs 80 for 24 hours.SMC will also charge unlocking charges of Rs 100 for four-wheelers, Rs 25 for two-wheelers and Rs 50 for three-wheelers which are parked in the no-parking zones. For cars, Rs 25 will be levied for the first three hours and Rs 30 for six hours. People were sensitized and no charges were levied for a period of one month. However, penalty and other on-street and off-street parking charges will apply now.People will be allowed to park their vehicles for free for the first 30 minutes.

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) will start implementation its parking policy by-laws from February 21 on specific roads of the city.Beginning Thursday, those who have parked their vehicles on these roads will be liable to pay penalty and their vehicles may be locked. Offenders will have to pay charges for getting them unlocked .After getting approval from state government, SMC implemented policy by-laws for awareness creation on January 20 , 2019. People were sensitized and no charges were levied for a period of one month. However, penalty and other on-street and off-street parking charges will apply now.People will be allowed to park their vehicles for free for the first 30 minutes.
