A video on Surat’s Umra crematorium showing bodies lined up for cremation in PPE Covid bags waiting for their turn is a grim reminder of the Covid reality. The surge in cases has not only overwhelmed hospitals, but now choking crematorium as well.

The sixty-six seconds’ video which has gone viral on social media is mainly on the people accompanying the dead bidding their time either sitting or walking inside the crematorium as the queue gets even longer with passage of time. “See the situation in Covid-19 here and amend your ways,” a voice is heard warning the people at the end. According to sources, more than 25 bodies were cremated on Thursday till late evening and still counting.
