Attempt to murder: Accused flees from Pandesara lock-up

Surat: A 20-year-old man, accused in an attempt to murder case, managed to escape from the Pandesara police station barely hours after his arrest early on Friday.The accused, Guddu Pandey, managed to free himself from the handcuffs without breaking them at around 7 am. Pandey, a resident of Prabhunagar in Pandesara was caught late on Thursday night. He had beaten up a rickshaw driver a day ago. "We set up a watch following information about Pandey was moving around in the area and caught him in the night," said police.Police station officer on duty registered the case and kept him handcuffed in custody.P A Baloch, police inspector, Pandesara said, "We have launched a search for him and hope to catch him soon."
