Man and his nephew drown in Tapi

SURAT: A 40-year-old man and his 17-year-old nephew drowned in Tapi river at Galteshwar of Surat district on Sunday afternoon. Sandis' brother Jayanti and son Jash drowned while swimming in Tapi.Police investigation revealed that Jash started drowning and Jayanti drowned while trying to save him. They had lunch and later went for a swim in the river. The deceased were swimming in the river when they drowned in its swirling waters.Vinod Sandis, an employee of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), had gone to Galteshwar temple with six members of his family.
