Surat Municipal Corporation starts recovery of Rs 46 cr property tax from Reliance, BSNL

SURAT: An unidentified person was booked at Chowk Bazaar police station on Saturday for allegedly extorting Rs 3,000 to restore a hacked Facebook profile page of a textile business firm here. The Facebook page of the firm was no more visible online after it was hacked, the complainant claimed.Lakhani, who is a textile products manufacturer, had developed the Facebook page for marketing and to reach his customers. The accused collected page details after threatening the victims and then hacked it and began to make extortion calls. Lakhani's partner, who manages his online business, received a call from the accused who said the Facebook page will be blocked until they provided him some specific details. The accused had demanded Rs 18,000 after hacking the Facebook page of the complainant's firm on June 18.Businessman Girish Lakhani , 39, lodged a police complaint following harassment by the unidentified person to extort money from him.
