Surat Municipal Corporation starts recovery of Rs 46 cr property tax from Reliance, BSNL

Surat: Police busted a cricket betting racket in Puna area of the city and arrested three accused from the spot on Sunday. The betting racket was being run from a bungalow under the limits of Puna police station.Ghanshyam Nakrani, 49, Manoj Chauhan, 34, and Shirvam Patel, 62, were arrested while taking betting orders on the England-South Africa match. Police recovered 16 mobile phones worth Rs75,000 from the spot. Nakrani was running the racket from the first floor of his house.The accused had a set group of clients with whom they stayed in touch through phones. Police also recovered Rs22,000 in cash, a TV worth Rs15,000 and other electronics products together worth Rs1.43 lakh.
