Collector fast tracks Dalit Bandhu scheme in Huzurabad

Karnan on Monday announced steps are being taken for flawless implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme as a pilot project in Huzurabad constituency of Karimnagar district. Beneficiaries will be suggested ventures in which they can invest their Dalit Bandhu amount immediately on its disbursal Karnan stated. The collector asked bankers present at the meeting to help beneficiaries in opening new bank accounts in the name of Dalit Bandhu.

Karnan on Monday announced steps are being taken for flawless implementation of Dalit Bandhu scheme as a pilot project in Huzurabad constituency of Karimnagar district. Chairing a review meeting on Monday with officials bankers insurance officials RDOs and MPDOs at the Collectorate conference hall in Karimnagar he pointed out that Rs. 1000 crore have already been sanctioned by the state government for implementing the scheme that benefits members of the SC community. A team of officials will visit every household of Dalit people to select beneficiaries in a transparent manner. Beneficiaries will be suggested ventures in which they can invest their Dalit Bandhu amount immediately on its disbursal Karnan stated. He ordered the district transport officer to issue licenses to beneficiaries who choose to buy cars for running them as taxies or tractors for use in fields. He asked officials to speak with concerned showrooms for releasing vehicles after insuring them. Beneficiaries who prefer dairies will be allotted buffaloes and sheds will be constructed to keep the animals. Arrangements will be made with either Karimnagar or Vijaya dairies for selling the milk. Those interested in setting up mini-super bazaar iron or cement shops will be given ideas about locating shops and in purchasing respective commodities. Beneficiaries interested in tailoring embroidery or ladies emporiums will be given necessary training. The collector asked bankers present at the meeting to help beneficiaries in opening new bank accounts in the name of Dalit Bandhu. Additional collector Garima Agarwal ZP CEO Priyanka assistant collector Mayank Mittal SC corporation ED Suresh RTO Chandrasekhar SC welfare officer Nithini and district industries centre general manager Naveen Kumar were among those present at the meeting along with 15 beneficiaries of the scheme.
